Steve is a graduate of Dundee University. He then had an early career in HR management and Management Development Consultancy.
During that time he was an elite Rugby referee which led to him combining his training and education expertise with his sporting knowledge to become the first Referee Development Manager in England and globally with World Rugby.
Steve then became Strategy Development Manager with World Rugby, and advanced to Head of Technical Services (including Training and Education) and Head of Organisation Development in an 18-year period.
Steve worked closely with the World Academy of Sport (WAoS) as a Visiting Fellow from 2006 and as Director of International Federation Programmes in 2015. He continues to be a Senior Visiting Fellow of WAoS.
In 2017 he started GCass providing sport and people development services to meet the needs of individuals and organisations.
